Respite Care Service

Virtus Care provide a respite home care service for anyone who needs that immediate but temporary care within their own homes. Our trained carers have the knowledge and skills to take over you or your loved ones care services on short notice and provide excellent care no matter the situation, whether it’s only for a few days, weeks or months we will be able to fill in for your regular carer while they take a much needed break.

The role of a carer can be both mentally and physically demanding so it’s not unusual for carers to often need a break, or maybe they simply need to attend to other duties for a while – Virtus Care understands this and so provide the ability for your carer to take a respite, while we handle you or your loved ones temporary care requirements.

What can a respite carer do for you?

Usually our respite carers will take on the same roles, duties and care plans as your usual carer does, Whether it’s part-time caring or full time live-in care, our flexibility means we can cover all the needs or requirements you’d usually have, but also tailor your care even further if needed.

Some of the tasks and activities your respite carer would do for you include:

Housekeeping, such as cleaning, laundry, arranging your travel etc

Mobility support, our carers will be on hand to help you move around whether it’s indoors or outdoors.

Clinical Care – our respite carers are trained to handle your nursing needs such as catheter, stoma, and continence assistance.

Personal care, this would include dressing, toileting, showering etc.

Medication management

Companionship – At Virtus Care we pride ourselves on having the friendliest, most considerate, and highly trained carers around London. It is not unusual for our carers to become good friends with the person they are caring for is usually the reason why Virtus Care holds such an excellent reputation around Kensington and London.

Types of respite care available

Due to the nature of respite care, our respite care services are fully flexible and tailored to your needs and will often simply replace your current care needs, so it feels like the same plan as your usual carer. We have the options for Live-in care so you will always be nearby our trained care for reassurance, flexible hourly and part-time.

We will always provide an assessment before the plan begins to make sure the carer you receive is up to your standards as we believe the bond between you, your loved ones and your carer is the most important aspect to receiving the best quality care.

How to arrange respite care with Virtus Care

Virtus Care makes the arrangement of respite care as simple as possible because we understand that arranging a carer can often be an especially important decision that is daunting and time consuming. All you need to do is contact us, where we will go through your specific requirements and answer any questions you may have, then arrange a cost depending on your needs and location. We will then book an assessment in your own home where we will match you with a carer that we believe will fit into your lifestyle and respects you and your home.

My Carer with Virtus was a live-in carer, she provided me with everything I needed to be comfortable in my own home, since I am now immobile, the carer helped me with all of my household tasks and even helped me look after my pet. She was always happy and I’m glad to say I see her now as family rather than just a care assistant.
