Being able to stay at home in your own comfort is crucial for your well being and independence. Being at home can also be a key factor in aiding recovery or slowing the unfortunate process of decline. However, with Virtus Care’s overnight care you can have the peace of mind of having a trained carer close by throughout the night, so you can maintain a comfortable and unbroken night’s sleep.

Some of the services Virtus Care provides overnight will include:

Nightly household tasks and personal care

Toileting care and assistance

Medication management

Palliative care

Turning support – Regular help in changing positions to help avoid injury, or after a surgery.

Clinical care such as PEG feed, Stoma care, Catheter care etc.

Having someone to assist in progressive conditions such as Dementia.

The comfort of knowing a trained professional carer is there on hand throughout the night.

types of overnight care

There are three main services we provide when it comes to overnight care.

Sleeping Nights
Waking Nights
Respite/Sitting Care.

These services should cover almost all needs however our flexibility means if there is anything we can change or assist that may be more complex, we are always adapting.

Sleeping Night Care

Virtus Care’s sleeping night service would provide you or your loved one a carer who would sleep in your home for a night, the carer will be able to sleep but will also be on hand at all times when required.

This option is usually best for those who do not need regular additional support but may feel uncomfortable if left alone or unattended throughout the night. If you or your loved one need assistance more than a couple times per night. Then our Waking night care service is more suitable.

Waking Night Care

Our waking night service provides one or more trained carers who will remain awake and support you through the night. These carers are trained to be vigilant and assistive throughout the night to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible and can rest easily.

This service is best for those who regularly wake up during the night, or those who need assistance to change position due to pressure sores, injury or post-surgery conditions – but also those who need regular medication or simply need the peace of mind of knowing a trained carer is awake and nearby and ready to assist you or your loved one.

Furthermore, the carer will happily complete domestic duties during the night without disturbing you, so you can wake up to whatever tasks you may need, completed.

This continued support and assistance from your carer will be the difference between an uneasy night and a satisfying rest for you and your family.

Sitting care/night respite for another carer

Another service we provide is Virtus Care’s sitting service. Otherwise known as an overnight respite service. This service provides you with a trained overnight carer who will happily take over the care duties of your regular carer while they may be taking a break.

This is the ideal situation for those who are either happy with their current care, or those who are seeing if overnight care is the service you may want instead of your current care. Virtus Care is flexible, and if someone we are providing overnight care to is waking more frequently, we will adapt and adjust our services to meet the requirements you and your family need. Feel free to contact us at 0333 444 4124 for more information.

My Carer with Virtus was a live-in carer, she provided me with everything I needed to be comfortable in my own home, since I am now immobile, the carer helped me with all of my household tasks and even helped me look after my pet. She was always happy and I’m glad to say I see her now as family rather than just a care assistant.
